Opportunity

Transforming a New Reception Space

When Datacom opened their new office in Wellington, it was the perfect chance to make a bold statement right at the front door. The new reception area was a blank canvas waiting for an interactive experience that would grab visitors' attention and immediately showcase Datacom’s innovative spirit and core values.

Problem

Outdated Perceptions

During our initial research, including interviews with various stakeholders, we found that many people still viewed Datacom as an old-school IoT company. This outdated perception didn't match the reality of Datacom being a cutting-edge innovator in New Zealand. We needed to change this narrative and highlight Datacom’s true identity through an engaging and memorable experience.

Outcome

An Engaging Interactive Experience

We designed a 100" digital art installation that transformed the reception area into an immersive, hands-free interactive experience. Visitors could disrupt particles on the screen with their movements, capture their digital imprints, and contribute to an ever-growing art gallery leveraging generative AI.

Each piece of art is inspired by Datacom’s values and created by employees, allowing them to express, through abstract art, what these values mean to them. This installation not only captivated visitors but also empowered them to be creative and share their unique perspectives through art, effectively helping to reshape the perception of Datacom as a forward-thinking and innovative company.
